Camp Bisco 10th Anniversary Party Preview

One of the biggest music events of the summer is right around the corner.  On July 7th, the Disco Biscuits will be celebrating their 10th anniversary of their Camp Bisco music festival, setting up camp at the beautiful Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville, NY for the fifth straight year.  If you haven’t been able to make it up to see the Disco Biscuits in their element, now is the time. These guys have put together an unbelievable lineup this year.

Disco Biscuits

The hosts play six sets themselves fresh off incredible performances at Mayan Holidaze in Mexico, Ultra Music Festival in Miami and dozens of other shows across the country. Year after year, these guys put on an unbelievable party with everyone at the festival coming together all at once to get down.  You can expect tDB’s signature mind-blowing lighting and laser effects with extended jams and upbeat untz to keep you moving for hours. However, that is only the beginning. The Disco Biscuits have invited the venerable Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, MSTRKRFT and Lotus to name a few for added support.  All weekend long, top of the line audio output will keep you enveloped by the world’s best electronic music with intermittent spurts of hip-hop and punk to add variety to the mix.

Those acts need no introduction, but there are so many other bands that deserve your full attention. Here’s a few to get you strated:

  • Beats Antique will return this year after throwing down an amazing show at CB9.  Fusing together an experimental blend of electronic and world beat music, Beats Antique come hard with super high energy performances and are always a crowd favorite. This fan video from CB9 sums them up well.
  • Cut Copy from Melbourne, Australia will deliver a super catchy wave of electro-pop/dance-punk.  Their nighttime performance at Ultra 2011, which typically demands the earth shaking thump from the likes of Tiesto, received rave reviews from critics and festival goers alike. These four blokes are incredible musicians; able to move in and out of house, new wave and electronica effortlessly.  Whatever’s your fancy, Cut Copy will be sure to please.
  • Making their second appearance at Camp Bisco following their debut last year, AURA Music Festival staple Papadosio is a must-see for everyone, combining eclectic musical traditions with modern electronic music.  Over the past few years, these five guys from Ohio have been getting bigger by the day and it seems nothing can stop them. Last year at Camp Bisco, Papadosio opened with a reportedly brilliant cover of Shpongle’s ‘Divine Moments of Truth.’  Dark, ominous clouds circled the stage on the hill throughout the first twenty minutes; unfortunately, those clouds produced a downpour of rain that preemptively ended the set.  Expect ‘Dosio to come back looking for revenge to make up for lost time last year.  This is going to be epic! Check them out live from AURA 2011.
  • Finally, everyone needs to go see Wolfgang Gartner. This guy’s production is second to none, and he’ll undoubtedly be dishing out the most danceable beats at CBX.
